RASAC gets OPPC support to take first Female STEPS

RASAC are pleased to announce that Hampshire OPCC are giving financial support to RASAC develop its STEPS-Surviving Through Empowerment and Peer Supprt programme over 2019/2020. The funding will allow RASAC to set up a number of female peer support groups across most of Hampshire which will eventually become a network of self- supporting groups.

Steve Witheyman RASAC manager said “this indicates the importance and level of need for ongoing peer support especially post therapeutic support and the OPPC funding recognizes the current gap in such provision”. The peer groups will engage with female survivors and while initially facilitated by RASAC, this will be through a light touch enabling the groups to get off the ground and then become self-directing within 12 months.

Edit: this is now active, please visit our STEPS page for more details.
