Mission Statement

Our Mission:

Working towards freedom from rape, sexual abuse, sexual violence and the associated sexual trauma.

Our Aims:

  • Prevention – to change societal attitudes and beliefs through awareness raising and working in collaboration with relevant agencies to eliminate sexual violence and sexual trauma
  • Provision – to continually grow and adapt our services I response to those who need us
  • Participation – overcoming all barriers to give survivors of sexual trauma a voice through promotion of client involvement
  • Protection – creating and providing a safe environment where anyone regardless of gender or age can freely express themselves

Our Values:

  • We believe anyone regardless of gender or age, ethnic background, culture or sexuality should have access to confidential support
  • We believe that no survivors of sexual abuse and sexual trauma regardless of lifestyle or behavior are responsible or to blame for their abuse
  • We believe everyone should adopt a zero tolerance to rape, sexual abuse and sexual violence

Our Vision:

We seek to ensure affordable, accessible, diverse, and flexible pathways to healing that address the pain of sexual abuse in childhood or of rape or sexual assault among adulthood from their own perspectives under the good practice of equal opportunities. We provide services that actively reflect the needs of our clients as identified by them.

Our Ethics:

RASAC is a registered BACP organisation and all of our counsellors are either registered or accredited BACP members. We therefore have committed ourselves to undertake and to adhere to the BACP ethical framework.
